Dr. Baroody has been a practitioner of martial arts since 1987. He holds a 5th degree black belt in Isshin Ryu Karate, a 4th degree black belt in Tomiki Aikido, a 3rd degree black belt in Aikijudo, a 1st degree black belt in Arnis de Mano, and a Combatives belt in Gracie Jiujitsu. Introduced to yoga in the mid-1990s, his exploration of movement led him to chiropractic. In practice for almost twenty years, it quickly became apparent that patients required active participation in their own healing.
Dragonfly chikungSM was developed by Dr. Baroody from a cross-cultural perspective of chiropractic, martial arts, and yoga. The traditional martial arts of Japan contain a wider variety of exercises which initially appear to have little value to the Western conceptions of exercise. However, the East classically had different standards of strength, and different conceptions of what is possible.
